How Shutter Valves Work
A shutter valve is a valve that opens and closes by sliding a plate-like valve, and it is used for full-open and full-closed positions. When fully open, there are no obstacles in the flow, and the valve has the same diameter as the drain outlet.
Automatic Opening and Closing with Air Cylinder
Shutter valves are operated by an air cylinder for automatic opening and closing. This reduces the effort required for opening and closing and minimizes the contamination risk associated with manual handling.
The opening and closing speed can be adjusted by controlling the air supply and tightening torque of the butterfly screw on the shutter valve. It can be closed rapidly or relatively slowly, depending on the application.
In addition, it is possible to synchronize the opening and closing of the shutter valve with other equipment, such as the LU-DT-ASC-K Mirror Plate Weighing Unit. This allows for process automation.
Ferrule Connection for the Discharge Outlet
This product has a ferrule connection for the discharge outlet. It can be connected to containers or piping systems with ferrule fittings. (Image shown does not include the air cylinder)
